This project is still a work in progress...I have to buy more paint, but even as it is there's a world of difference in the before and after. Of course, I forget to take photos of the before, sigh. It was a dark hunter green with a few scraped places that had gone rusty. I used Rustoleum 'Fern' paint on it. Isn't it a gorgeous color?
I'd planned to buy two new chairs to go on the back deck, but then I found this glider...ne of those things you have in the yard and you see but you don't for some reason...and I realized I had perfectly good seating without spending a penny. Honestly, despite the paint work not being finished, it really looks as good as those I saw in Lowe's the other day for $99 each. Huh! Mine cost me all of $3.94 for the paint!
Since I missed posting last week due to sheer busyness, I thought I'd give you another peep at a make do:
All of the petunias in this strawberry pot came up from last year's seed except the dark purple one in the very top. I moved seedlings from another flower pot to fill in this one, and all but one little plant were volunteers. Isn't that a beaut?

Since I work all the rest of this week, my make-do will have to wait a bit, but I rummaged through my fabric stash and found some scraps of red and black wool already cut into 4" squares from an abandoned quilt project, and some odd lengths of quilt batting. I plan to use them to make seat cushions for the chairs I repainted last week :-)
I remember chairs like this from my grandmother's house. How neat they are still around. A blast from the past but then I had to do a double take when you said it was a glider. I love that! I would be on it constantly. Now as far as that color....F*A*B*U*L*O*U*S!
Love the pot of petunias. I just put them in front of my mended shelves for this week as you saw. I love old fashioned blooms...don't you? How did you seed them? Did you have left over from last year? I have never tried to grow them from seed before.
